How do I begin?
Import speech from Files or Photos, select its project, choose the language and tap Create captions. Correct words and timings before cutting or exporting.
Does it work without a download?
The bundled recognition model and tokenizer are included in the app. It does not fetch them remotely. A cloud-only import or your chosen share service may still need a connection.
Why is Apple offline recognition unavailable?
Apple recognition is optional and only runs with a locally supported language and speech permission. Choose the included bundled model instead.
What does selecting a word cut?
The saved start and end times for selected captions define the source media ranges removed. Correct timing first and listen to the result; an ASR timing is an estimate. Undo or Restore all cuts can recover edits.
Can I use audio-only files?
Yes. Export SRT/VTT with edited AAC, or generate a waveform-cover MP4 with the actual edited audio and rendered captions.
What is the Example button?
It generates a tone and explicitly labeled sample text for an editing exercise. The sample text is not a recognition result. Import actual speech to test transcription.
Does it work offline?
Processing and exports work locally after import. Cloud-only Photos or Files, support email and online sharing destinations may need internet.
How is it purchased?
A paid App Store download includes all tools. There is no subscription or in-app purchase.
Can an export restore the editable project?
No. Keep original media and final files outside the app before uninstalling or changing devices.
What systems are supported?
iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17.0 or later. The first release is not offered on Mac or Apple Vision Pro.
