Local aquarium records
Tank profiles, volumes, water-test readings, units, test methods, maintenance logs, care tasks, notes, photos and preferences are stored in the app on your device. We do not operate an account service or aquarium storage server. The app contains no advertising, tracking or analytics SDKs and does not upload your journal to us.
Photos and permissions
Camera permission is requested only when you choose the camera. The system photo picker provides only the images you select. Imported images are resized to a maximum of 2,000 pixels and re-encoded as JPEG without source GPS metadata. Keep originals separately. Importing a photo stored only in a cloud service may need internet access.
Optional notifications
Care reminders are local notifications after you grant permission and opt in to reminders. Messages do not contain tank names or water-test values. The nearest 60 future reminders are queued for 9 AM on the recorded due date. Reopen the app to refresh the queue or after changing time zones. System notification and Focus settings affect delivery. No remote push service receives your tasks.
Exports and sharing
PDF journals contain tank records, readings, maintenance, tasks, notes and photos. CSV exports contain readings and maintenance, with times in UTC. Complete .tankledger backups include all tanks, entries, tasks, preferences and photos. Files are not encrypted or password protected by the app. You choose the sharing destination, which handles the file under its own policy. PDF and CSV files cannot restore your journal.
Restore and device backups
Restore replaces rather than merges the current journal. Before replacing a nonempty journal, the app saves a complete recovery copy locally. Export backups outside the app to protect against uninstalling or losing the device. Apple device backups may include app data depending on your settings. The app has no automatic cloud sync.
Retention and deletion
Records remain until you delete or replace them. Archiving keeps history and disables that tank's reminders. Deleting records does not erase previous exports, recovery copies or system device backups. Uninstalling removes local journal data and recovery copies. Manage externally saved copies with the destination you chose. Temporary exports may remain until cleared by the system or app removal.
Support email
If you voluntarily email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. We use it to answer your request, not for marketing, advertising or tracking. Gmail handles support email. Avoid sending private photos or a complete backup unless necessary and you choose to share them. Correspondence is retained as needed to resolve requests and meet applicable obligations; you may request deletion at the support address.
Apple purchases and this website
Apple handles App Store purchases and platform diagnostics under its own policies. The app does not receive payment card details and has no in-app purchases or subscriptions. This website has no account, advertising or analytics scripts. Cloudflare may process IP addresses and technical request details to deliver and protect it. Email links open your mail app and do not upload aquarium records.
Policy updates
We update the date on this page when the policy changes and update the in-app information and App Store privacy details if data practices change.
