Information on your device

Item names, rooms, brands, models, serial numbers, purchase details, prices, warranty dates, notes, photos, receipts, and preferences are stored locally in the app. We do not operate an app account service or a server that receives your inventory. The app has no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.

Photos and documents

Camera permission is requested when you choose to take a photo. The system photo picker shares only the images you select. Imported images are resized to a maximum of 2,000 pixels on the longest side and re-encoded as JPEG without source GPS metadata. Keep original photos separately. PDF receipts are retained as provided, including their original metadata. Files stored only in a cloud service may require internet access to import.

Optional reminders

Warranty reminders are scheduled locally after you grant notification permission and enable a reminder for an item. Notification text does not include item names, prices, or serial numbers. There is no developer-operated push notification service. Delivery depends on iOS notification and Focus settings.

Exports and sharing

CSV exports contain item details and attachment names. PDF reports contain selected active records and image attachments, but list original PDF receipts separately instead of embedding them. Complete .keepfolio backups include records, preferences, photos, and PDF receipts. Exports and backups are not password protected by the app. You choose the sharing destination; that recipient or service then handles the file under its own policies. Review files before sharing.

Backup and restore

Restoring a .keepfolio backup replaces the current inventory rather than merging it. Before replacing a nonempty inventory, the app creates a recovery backup on the same device. Export backups outside the app to protect against app deletion or device loss. Depending on your Apple settings, system device backups may include app data. There is no app-managed cloud synchronization or family sharing of inventory records.

Retention and deletion

Records remain until you delete or replace them. Archiving hides an item from the active inventory but does not delete it. Deleting an item removes its active record and attachments after a successful save. Previous exports, recovery backups, and system device backups are separate copies and are not erased with an active record. Temporary exports may remain until cleared by the operating system or app removal. Uninstalling removes the local inventory and recovery copies. Manage external copies with the destination you chose.

Support correspondence

If you voluntarily email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. We use it to answer the request, not for marketing, advertising, or tracking. Email is handled through Gmail. Do not send financial documents, private serial numbers, home addresses, or a full backup unless necessary to explain an issue and you choose to share it. Correspondence is retained only as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable obligations. You may request deletion at the same support address.

Apple purchases and diagnostics

Apple handles App Store purchases and may process purchase information and platform diagnostics under its own policies. The app does not receive payment card details and has no in-app purchases or subscriptions.

This website

This site has no advertising or analytics scripts and requires no account. Cloudflare may process technical connection information, such as IP addresses and request details, to deliver and protect the website. Email links open your email app; they do not upload inventory records.

Policy changes

We update the date on this page when the policy changes. Any changes to app data practices will also be reflected in the in-app information and App Store privacy details as appropriate.
